Gnome on HP-UX? It's true.  You can run the gnome desktop on your HP-UX box.  It works on servers or workstations.  However, I wouldn't attempt to run it on a 710, it's quite a resource hog.   However, it is MUCH better than CDE, and you haven't lived until you've heard your B1000 play sounds when the gui loads.

HP finds a thrilla in Mozilla. Hewlett-Packard will sidestep a Netscape-branded browser for its open-source original, a move the company calls a vote of confidence for the open-source model.  As someone who uses Mozilla anyway, I think this is an excellent move.  Although it should be pointed out that Netscape is just a modified form of Mozilla, I have found that on my system (K360 w/HP-UX 11) Mozilla is much, much faster than Netscape.   In future releases of HP-UX, they will be provided BOTH Netscape and Mozilla. HP Alumni Yahoo Group -- Ex-HP employee?  Yahoo groups hosts the HP Alumni Association.  I'm pretty new to the group, but I'm liking what I'm seeing.  Of course, it's members only, and you will have to submit information showing that you are, in fact, an ex-HP employee.
